MEETING TO BE HELD IN POSH GERMAN RESORT HOTEL

ROTTACH-EGERN, Germany—European Bilderberg hunters have found the hiding place of this secretive cabal at a posh resort in this charming little city 40 miles from Munich. Their annual meeting is May 5-8.

Bilderberg is gathering at the Dorint Sofitel Seehotel Ueberfahrt, a five-star conference and business hotel with 188 luxury rooms. It is on a lake and near a golf course—typical Bilderberg requirements. High officials of the U.S. government and possibly a few congressional leaders will participate in three days of secret meetings to plan global policy. Heads of state and other high officials from Europe and Britain will participate, along with world financiers.

David Rockefeller and his valet, Henry Kissinger, are longtime Bilderberg regulars. Donald Graham, publisher of The Washington Post, and associate editor Jimmy Lee Hoagland regularly attend, upon their promise to report
nothing.

The New York Times, LA Times and all major networks — ABC, CBS and NBC — have participated. All participants are sworn to secrecy. Bilderberg denies its existence, and all the resorts at which they hold their meetings require their employees to lie and deny they are present.

Three times the Dorint told AFP they were fully booked — but that Bilderberg was not there. All but Bilderberg participants and their staffs, wives or, in some cases, someone else’s wife, will be required to leave. The hotel staff will be warned to reveal nothing of what they see and hear.

Armed guards will patrol not only the main entrance but the perimeters.

Exposing Bilderberg meetings has provided advance warning—months ahead of the mainstream media—of U.S. wars, tax increases, and the downfall of Margaret Thatcher as prime minister of Britain, among other exclusives.

The Bush Crime Family's Tangled Web of Robber Barons

It seemed, at first, like nothing more than a novelty item in the news briefs, the kind of odd, meaningless side-fact thrown off by most major stories: "New Pope, President's Brother Had Link in Swiss Group." But a look beneath the surface of this innocuous connection reveals a vast web of sinister alliances -- and moral corruption on a world-shaking scale.

The network links a bewildering line-up of players -- the Bushes, the Vatican, bin Laden, Saddam Hussein and China's Communist overlords, among others -- in a staggering array of crime and turpitude: prostitution, pedophilia, mass death and war profiteering. Yet this is not some grand "conspiracy theory," a serpent's egg hatched in Bilderberg or Bohemian Grove. It's simply the way the Bush boys do business, trawling the globe for sweetheart deals and gushers of blood money from the war and terror they foment.

At the center of this particular nexus is the unlikely figure of Neil Bush, the feckless, fraudulent brother of the current president. Neilsy, as he's known in the family, is most famous for costing American taxpayers $1 billion to bail out a savings-and-loan he had ruined with secret insider loans to his own business partners. For this massive fraud, he was fined -- by his father's administration -- the princely sum of $50,000, which was actually paid by one of his dad's political bagmen, of course.

You see, the Bushes are robber barons, not capitalists: They never risk any of their own money in the competition of the marketplace. Nor do they ever pay the price when their deals go belly-up. Just ask George W., whose first business was jump-started with secret cash from the bin Ladens, laundered through their U.S. frontman, James Bath -- who was also hired by W.'s dad, then-CIA director George Bush Sr., to set up offshore companies for shifting CIA money and aircraft between Texas and Saudi Arabia, the Texas Observer reported.

Neilsy's latest business ventures include a partnership with one of China's own influence-peddling oligarchs: Jiang Mianheng, son of former President Jiang Zemin. He's paying Bush $2 million for "advice" in a field – the semiconductor industry -- which Neilsy cheerfully confesses he knows nothing about. Bush also trousered $1 million for "introductions and advice" from the CP Group, a Bangkok conglomerate spreading bipartisan gravy around Washington. In return for supplying his paymasters with a golden conduit to the White House, Neilsy received a special perk: free prostitutes, served up fresh to his hotel room during business trips to Asia.

But between his sessions of bouncy-bouncy with trafficked women, Neilsy was also sitting down with hard-line cleric Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the former soldier for Nazi Germany now translated to glory as Pope Benedict XVI. The two men were board members of an obscure Swiss institute ostensibly devoted to "interfaith dialogue." Although the organization did have some prominent ecumenical figures on the board, none of them could say exactly why pimp-daddy Neilsy was invited to join, Newsday reported.

Perhaps there's a clue in the group's incorporation. Dunn & Bradstreet lists the supposedly nonprofit foundation as a "management trust," designed for "purposes other than education, religion, charity or research." The group's spokesman says this designation was a "mistake," and anyway, the institute is hastily being "re-launched" with a "new focus" on its religious mission. But a cynic -- i.e., anyone with the slightest acquaintance of Bush business practices -- might think that a "management trust" masquerading as a religious charity would be an excellent place to launder money or park assets away from the taxman's prying eyes.

Meanwhile, Ratzinger spent his time on the Swiss board trying to bury the Vatican's massive pedophilia scandal, the London Observer reported this week. In a secret 2001 letter, he ordered Church officials to prevent police from learning about abuse allegations -- a theological innovation more commonly known in the United States as "obstructing justice." Given this criminal high-wire act, perhaps the good cardinal thought it prudent to cultivate some personal ties with a presidential sibling.

Whatever Neilsy and Das Panzerkardinal were up to in Switzerland, Ratzinger repaid their camaraderie with a decisive intervention in brother George's 2004 election, issuing a fatwa that essentially condemned any Catholic voting for John Kerry to eternal hellfire. With the Vatican's iron hand on the scales, Bush reaped an extra six percent of the Catholic vote -- a huge boost in a tight race.

But it's Neilsy's long-time partnership with Syrian-born businessman Jamal Daniel that has provided the true mother lode: war profiteering. Daniel, also a boardmate in the Swiss adventure with Ratzinger, is a principal in New Bridge Strategies, a firm set up by top Bush insiders to steer corporate clients to the fountains of blood money flowing from George W.'s conquest of Iraq. The company makes frequent use of Neilsy's "introductions" and Middle East connections, The Financial Times reported. It also operates a profitable sideline in mercenaries.

Daniel brings his own unique connections to the regional porkfest: His family was instrumental in the creation of the Baath Party in Syria and Iraq, The Financial Times noted. And of course, the Bush Family's covert arm, the CIA -- whose headquarters bears the name of George Sr. -- assisted not one, but two, Baathist coups in Iraq, including the bloody upheaval that brought Saddam Hussein's family faction to power, historian Roger Morris reported. Still later, the CIA would supply Osama bin Laden and his fellow extremists with weapons, money and terrorist training: a shrewd investment whose long-term consequences -- the current "war on terror" -- are still paying fat dividends for Bush coffers.

Sure, thousands die and millions suffer from these dirty deals -- but it's not a "conspiracy." It's just business -- the Bush way.

All in all this is business as usual for this crowd. One of the most prolific investigators is Sherman Skolnick, who states in one of his investigative reports,

"In its simplest form, the Persian Gulf War was just the falling out of former private business partners. I was the only journalist to be in attendance in 1991, at the hearing of a federal court case in Chicago. My exclusive interviews of the participants confirmed why certain bank records had to be concealed, the subject matter of the litigation. They showed the secret private business partnership in the 1980s of George Herbert Walker Bush, President in 1991, and Saddam Hussein, the Iraqi strongman installed by Bush, starting when Bush was head of the secret police (CIA) in 1976."

The secret partnership Skolnick refers was where Bush the Elder and Saddam split kickbacks from Gulf oil producers to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.

As a matter of fact, the Skull and Bones link to all of this is a family affair since Prescott S. Bush, George W. Bush's grandfather, joined the neo-spartan fraternity in 1916. His son, George H.W., and grandson, George W., would follow in his footsteps in later years.

And then there is the more recent international activities connected to the Carlyle Group.

The tentacles of this massive criminal family and its co-conspirators reaches into many and varied enterprises. And as the web of deceit and treachery continues to grow, so does the diminishing of the rights of Americans as the symbiant of government and corporate power grows stronger and debilitates and destroys the once vibrant middle class of the U.S.

There is even proof that the Iran-Contra arms for hostages scandal was unwittingly blown open by Jonathan Pollard who reported to his Mossad handlers that an arms shipment was bound supposedly for the Palestinians, which was in fact the first shipment of arms to Iran in exchange for the release of the hostages held in Lebanon. Barry Chamish reports,

"Pollard thought he was helping Israel protect itself and that his material would fall into honest, trusted hands. Sadly for him, it fell into the grimy paws of Shimon Peres and he used it to create a crime empire, broadly called Iran Contra. It is the fear of exposing Peres and his cronies, that is the real reason why the Israeli government has made no sincere effort to free Joanthan Jay Pollard."

This arms shipment was being sent under the direction of then Vice President Bush and Col. Oliver North. The Israelis notified the Greeks and they raided the ship in Greek port before it was able to set sail for Yemen. Chamish further reports from the Federal Government Watch Discussion List,

"Neither Pollard nor the government of Israel was aware that they had smashed George Bush's first shipment of arms to Iran. Pollard never realized that he had busted the most secret White House operation of modern times. The summer of 1984 Greek shipment was a dagger over George Bush's head."

Of course, Shimon Peres threatened to expose the deal and wanted to be cut in. He was, and that became known as Irangate. See Barry Chamish's aricle for all the details.

This is just the tip of the iceberg and with some googling, a little research and a critical sense while reading to separate the chaff from the wheat anyone can see the extent of the activities of this heinous cabal of criminal cohorts.

Immigration invasion threatens to destroy America

Can a country commit suicide? Can the leaders of America kill this country? Can President Bush--an avowed globalist who refuses to uphold his oath of office--destroy our Constitution by aiding and abetting this unending illegal alien invasion? Can Bush destroy our sovereignty?

“Yes! The Benedict Arnold Brigade destroying our country is led by George Bush,” Wes Bramhall, 83 year old WWII veteran said while standing on the line with the Minute Man Project across from Naco, Mexico. “Senator McCain is his field commander and Flake, Kyl and Kolbe are his corporals. The rest of the members of Congress are lynching our country to death.”

“Why are you out here with the Minute Man Project?”

“I’m not going to be around much longer,” Bramhall said, “but I’ve got granddaughters who will have to face this accelerating nation-destroying invasion. I’m here for them. We’ve got to stop Bush from destroying our country. He’s no different than the traitor Benedict Arnold.”

History dictates that no great nation lasts forever. None have withstood the vagaries of time. Looking back through the hourglass of years--Rome, Persia, Egypt, Spain, France, Britain and Germany—all of them—rose to triumphal status only to plummet into defeat via war or they coasted into mediocrity. The historian Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall. But it’s their method of demise that creates an intriguing point. He said, “An autopsy of history shows that all great nations commit suicide.”

Is Bramhall wrong? Is he off base? Can a continuous annual influx of three million illegal aliens and one million legal immigrants destroy America’s cohesive and sustainable future?

Bush's stand clearly shows he wants to merge us with South America, i.e. FTAA, CAFTA, LOST, etc. Illegal immigration facilitates this merging - following the pattern of the European Union. That would create a global work force of about $6 per hour if we are really lucky. It would also by its very nature end the European concept and culture of freedom. That is the only way to achieve slavery without firing a shot.”

“Our nation has a much bigger problem than illegal aliens, and it needs correcting, preferably at the voter box,” Jack, a contractor, said. “Right now, I think ignorance of our people is the biggest problem. It is good that we assist in stopping the illegal immigrants, but I pray that we do not stop there.”

“Just read your excellent article about the terrible immigration threat we now face, all the good intelligence you provide, and the info on the Minutemen,” Paul, from Florida, said. “I consider your article so vital I have shared it with about 20 email contacts around the country. Praise God for emboldening you to speak out and try to reach millions with the truth on this important subject.”

“May I suggest to you that they DO know what is going on and are part of an ongoing CONSPIRACY being carried out by the Council of Foreign Relations elitists who control Bush and Rice, and whose goal is to weaken America and bring it to the point where it can more easily be submerged under a United Nations dominated world government,” Janet, a systems analyst, said. “Surely you are aware of this! Surely you are aware of the damage that WTO, GATT, and NAFTA have already done to our nation economically and brought it under the control of globalist organizations! Surely you are aware of the plan by Bush and company. They will SOON create the FTAA and use it to further erode our nation's independence! I wonder why you don't bring this out in your various articles.”

“Skip to the end and read the very telling comment Cannon makes that he does not believe in the rule of law!” Harvey, a businessman, said. “I am very disappointed to learn that both Durbin and Obama are supporting this legislation; classic legacy liberals both; they have abandoned their core constituents, labor (AFL-CIO has done same in pursuit of expanded union receipts) and the environment because of the tug on the heart. Since the first amnesty, there have been seven amnesties to date for illegal immigrants which, in aggregate, have served only to exacerbate the problem. At least open-borders/cheap labor/pro-biz Republicans make it clear where they stand by embracing the second round of de facto slavery in America. But what are the Dems thinking in facilitating this cheap labor Ponzi scheme being subsidized by the rest of the country?

“It’s a scheme that exacts a heavy toll on those at the lower end of the wage scale. Americans won't take these jobs? To the contrary, if the jobs paid a livable wage that afforded a modicum of dignity, Americans would gladly take them as they always did before. Where in the country do we NEED MORE PEOPLE? Industries that once sustained entire communities, e.g., construction, and the meat packing industry here in the Midwest, are being converted to illegal alien sweatshops, thus importing poverty while enriching the few atop this cheap labor pyramid scheme. While there are some labor economists, like Jorge Borjas at Harvard who recognize the peril of this mass immigration, many, if not most, economists are content to ignore the true or hidden costs. They ignore the environment, by externalizing the "quality of life" costs associated with massive population growth, a demographic time bomb pushing us towards a billion within this century and mortgaging our future with overpopulation, environmental degradation, wage and living standard depression, balkanization, and terrorism.”

Okay, now you have spoken. Is Bush another Benedict Arnold? Is George Bush guilty of treason? Will he succeed in destroying America?

In closing, the definition of treason is: Violation of allegiance toward one’s country or sovereign; the betrayal of one’s own country by waging war against it, or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies. By violating his oath of office, Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, Mr. George Walker Bush along with his lackey, Condi Rice, fit the definition.

President George W. Bush’s latest approval rating is 44 percent! He will not abscond with his agenda to destroy America. Why? Because a thundering heard of Americans rebuke further illegal alien invasion into this country!

President Abe Lincoln once said, “You can fool some of the people some of the time; you can fool all the people some of the time; but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.”

Editor's comment: Frosty Wooridge again sounds a call to arms on the immigration scandal that is destroying the U.S.

MEDIA BLACKOUT ON TRILATERALS

Secretive Commission Meets to Talk War, Trade

Both Vice President Dick Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld reassured members of the Trilateral Commission, meeting in Washington April 15-18, that they anticipated no invasion of Iran. Rumsfeld further assured Trilateralists that Iraq “will not be another Vietnam” with “combat troops on patrol 10 years from now,” Trilateral sources said.

However, they stressed the qualification “combat patrol,” indicating that troops may remain for logistical duties.

Logistical duties can turn into combat with a single shot. Both Cheney and Rumsfeld are old-timers with international power groups. As secretary of defense under President Bush the Elder, Cheney participated in the annual closed meetings of the Trilaterals.

Rumsfeld has participated with the Trilaterals and its brother group, Bilderberg, as a White House aide under President Ronald Reagan and as defense secretary under the current President Bush.

Bilderberg and the Trilateral Commission have interlocking leadership and a common agenda. David Rockefeller and Henry Kissinger are leaders of both groups. The Trilaterals’ European chairman, Peter Sutherland, head of Goldman-Sachs International, is also a Bilderberg leader. Former House Speaker Tom Foley is the TC’s North American chairman.

Appearances by Cheney, Rumsfeld and other administration officials were viewed as top secret. The appearances were not listed on their public schedules, not even as involving a “private group.” There were no transcripts available, which is routine in normal functions.

The U.S. invasion of Iraq created the first serious dissent among participants from the United States and Europe in both the Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg. On all other major issues, including empowering the United Nations to directly tax the citizens of the world as a crucial enhancement of its evolving as a world government, both groups are united and collaborating.

Cheney spoke on “policy directions for the U.S. administration” on April 16. Rumsfeld addressed the 300 Trilaterals shortly before they headed for the airports Monday afternoon.

Paul Wolfowitz, deputy secretary of defense and president-elect of the World Bank, addressed the TC’s dinner meeting April 17. Wolfowitz assured everyone that the United States would be a “willing partner” in helping “developing nations” enhance their economies, meaning more American tax dollars would be shipped to poor countries.

Following Cheney’s speech on opening day, David Gergen provided an “analysis of the American electorate.” He warned that “nationalism” remains a strong force in America and selling the idea of surrendering sovereignty to the UN will be difficult. In TC and Bilderberg dictionaries,“nationalism” is an obscenity.

Gergen is professor of public service at the John Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He is of no fixed ideology. Gergen voted for Hubert Humphrey in 1968 but worked for President Richard Nixon and later for President Bill Clinton.

“The rise of China and its impact on global governance” was the subject of a panel led by Yotaro Kobayashi, TC’s Pacific Asian chairman.

Other panelists were Ren Xaio, director of the Department of Asian-Pacific Studies at the Shanghai Institute for International Studies, and Yuan Ming, director of the Institute for International Relations at Peking University.

They discussed a prospective “Asian-Pacific Union” similar to the European Union and the evolving “American Union” as NAFTA expands throughout the Western Hemisphere. The dollar is to be the common currency of the “American Union.”

It has long been the Bilderberg-TC goal to divide the world into three great regions for the administrative convenience of the world government.

Kissinger participated in a panel on “searching for a new Trilateral partnership.” Bill Emmott, editor of The Economist of London, joined a discussion on “community building in East Asia, holding his vows of secrecy loftier than his duty as a journalist. Thomas Pickering of the Boeing Co. participated in a panel on “understanding the Muslim world.”

Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan addressed the Trilaterals on the subject “resolving global currency and trade conflicts.” Greenspan suggested that it would be difficult to increase the U.S. income tax in the “current political atmosphere in Washington.” He said interest rates would gradually rise.

The only other coverage of the meeting appeared in The Washington Times. Reporter Joseph Curl overheard Francois Sauzey of Paris, a member of the TC staff, complain that “Everyone’s beating up on France because of the coming referendum.”

Sauzey was referring to several polls in France that indicate voters will reject the proposed European Union constitution, a reversal of public sentiment. If just one nation rejects it, the constitution dies.

An internal TC document obtained by AFP said “Europeans must be more explicit, privately if not publicly, in committing themselves to sanctions if Iran resumes its uranium enrichment program. For its part, the U.S. needs to engage the Iranians not just on the economic front but also on questions of regional security.”

Israel is pressing the United States to attack Iran, which has missiles that can strike Israel.

The document was produced by the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. It was authored by Giuliano Amato, former prime minister of Italy; Harold Brown, secretary of defense under President Jimmy Carter; Carla Hills, U.S. trade representative under President George H. W. Bush; and George Robertson, former secretary-general of NATO and long-time Bilderberg luminary.

“When both the U.S. and Europe face profound economic challenges from China, India and other rising economies, a high-level political commitment at the U.S.-EU summit in June to reduce regulatory and other non-tariff barriers to transatlantic trade and investment could bring long-term improvements to the competitiveness and growth of the U.S. and European economies,” the document said.

“Summit” was probably a reference to the Group of Eight meeting of heads of state from the industrialized nations, scheduled July 6-7 (not June) at the Gleneagles resort in Scotland.

Another internal document, obtained by the Times, was entitled “Trilateral Memorandum No. 8” and dealt with the continuing skirmish between Japan and China. It was issued by Akira Kojima, a TC member and chairman of the Japan Center for Economic Research in Tokyo. Relations soured because of revisionist Japanese textbooks that China claims fails to address atrocities committed in World War II. Kojima appears to share China’s views. He wrote:

“Japan still has a history of [government] textbook approval, and this misguided system is at the root of these unnecessary misunderstandings and must be abolished.”

The memo called Japan’s prime minister, Junichiro Koizumi, “a peculiar character in that he is basically stubborn. If he is criticized for one thing, he intentionally sticks to it and repeats it.”

This year, the Trilaterals returned to their earlier policy of trying to keep their gathering secret. Its Washington office angrily refused to say when and where they would meet.

The huge staff refused to provide papers and the only working journalist on the scene was under constant surveillance.

“The Trilateral Commission’s meetings have inspired conspiracy theories of powerful puppeteers who secretly pull the strings of world power as they seek to establish a new world order,” the Times story said. “The theories are based partly on fact.”

Building the EU & Globalism by Stealth

HOW DECEIT is integral to the development of the EU was admitted frankly by Italian prime minister Guiliano Amato in an interview with Barbara Spinelli of La Stampa on 13 July 2000. Since then Amato became vice-president of the convention that drafted the EU constitution. Here are some things he said:

"The project of the European constitution is daring, but to overcome obstacles in politics it is necessary to conceal them. In Europe one needs to act 'as if' - as if what was wanted was little, in order to obtain much, as if states were to remain sovereign to convince them to concede sovereignty. The Commission in Brussels, for example, should act as if it were a technical instrument, in order to be able to be treated as a government. And so on, by disguise and subterfuge...

"The sovereignty that is lost at national level does not pass to any new entity. It is entrusted to entities without a face: Nato, the UN and eventually the EU,which is in the vanguard of a world that is changing, pointing to a future of princes without sovereignty.

"The new entity is faceless and those who are in command can neither be pinned down nor elected... The federalists still think that stripping nation states of their sovereignty transfers it to a higher level. This is their mistake. The truth is that shifting sovereign power will make it evaporate, disappear. In it there will no longer be individual identifiable sovereigns. In their place there will be a multitude of authorities at different levels of aggregation, each of which will be at the head of different interests of human beings: levels that possess ambiguous fields of power which they share with other authorities.

"That is the way Europe was made too: by creating communitarian organisms without giving the organisms presided over by national governments the impression that they were being subjected to a higher power. That is how the Court of Justice was born as a supranational body: it was a sort of unseen atom-bomb, which Schuman and Monnet slipped into the negotiations on the Coal and Steel Community. So also for the Coal and Steel Community itself: a casual mixture of national interests that became communitarian.

"It does not seem opportune to substitute this slow and efficient way which tranquillizes national States at the moment when they are being stripped of their powers with the great institutional jumps so dear to Fischer and the federalists. Fischer says that Monnet is outdated, but he misunderstands Monnet - he was a convinced federalist, but considered it prudent to conceal his federalism under cover of a functional federalism, applied progressively by sectors...

"As to the Commission, for me, the political role of the executive is beyond discussion. I am convinced though that it can exercise it best using the technical powers that the Treaty confers on it as an executive organ. As Delors did in the years of the Commission's period of maximum development between 1986 and 1992. When Delors then wanted to act explicitly as the government of the Union, after 1992, the crisis in Europe was immediate.

"Therefore I prefer to go slowly, to crumble pieces of sovereignty up little by little, avoiding brusque transitions from national to federal power. The proposal to directly elect the president of the Commission seems senseless to me. Here is another Jacobin idea which instead of a plural identity aims at a total "demos". There is already a representative of the communitary "demos", which should be strengthened - the European parliament. European patriotism will be born from the Charter of Rights, which should be the preamble of the European constitution and of the future distribution of responsibilities between organs of the Union. But even the constitution should be built without changes that are too abrupt.

"That is the way I think we will have to behave to build Europe's common policies. Which policies? The locomotive, or heart, of Europe will have to see to he common governance of the economy, as well as to common rules on immigration. It will have to define common rights for legal immigrants: the right to send their children to school, the right to health services, the right of the second generation to be integrated. Then we must create common rules for labour and (police) forces to watch over the common outer boundaries. As you see, the bulding sites are immense."

Hispaniola: A Case History in Multicultural Madness

Since the immigration law of 1965, which nullified and even reversed the quotas of the 1921 law, the United States is rapidly becoming a multicultural, or more exactly, a multi-racial nation. Many problems have ensued from the new policy, most of them unforeseen and based on ethnic differences. Perhaps, before another immigration law is passed, America should examine life in already existing multicultural nations and consider a revision in its quota allotments.

After Franz Boas had set the desired politically correct course for American anthropology,(1) and Margaret Mead, one of his first students, had applied the indicated approach and disgraced the discipline,(2) much of subsequent anthropological studies were very much aligned with tendentious sociological concerns with which most women anthropologists seemed very comfortable. That is why a recent study on the peoples of Hispaniola, Why the Cocks Fight, by anthropologist Michele Wucker,(3) is such a pleasant surprise.

While it is true that Ms Wucker spends too much time discussing political and sociological matters on that perpetually troubled island, especially the darker half, her notable contributions to anthropology in this book are:

• In analyzing the significance of cockfights and the “strutting rooster” image to the blacks and mulattos of Hispaniola;

• In providing a sound background in the racial history of the island; and

• Recognizing the importance of racial considerations in discussing human behavior. In brief, she blends physical anthropology in neatly with cultural matters.

Although cockfights are strictly in the male domain, Ms Wucker, who to her credit recognizes that fact, manages to gain a true appreciation of the cockfighters (galleros), the arenas (galleras, gagaires), and even the triumphant strutting cock (gallo), and to convey that understanding and appreciation to her readers. Equally popular in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, the cockfights are very symbolic of the history of violence between the two peoples.

Moreover, Ms Wucker treats her material most carefully and with respect for the peoples she discusses. For example, when referring to Haiti’s folk religion, a mixture of African animism and Roman Catholicism, she uses the spelling “Vodou” to distinguish it from what she calls Hollywood’s grotesque portrayal of “Voodoo.”(4) Likewise she uses the term “Kreyol” when referring to Haiti’s language, better suggesting its origin as one of the group of languages called creoles and reflecting that they are a mixture of African and European languages.

A glossary of Haitian and Dominican terms relating to cockfights, race, Vodou and other words unique to Hispaniola enhances the usefulness of the study and provides a handy reference for native terms.

Haiti is roughly considered a black country, while the Dominican Republic is essentially a mulatto nation. The two distinct countries, fated to be located on the same island of Hispaniola, generally despise each other. The dividing line separating the two peoples runs along Rio Massacre, so named because of the thousands of Haitians and Dominicans slaughtered at the border for infringing on the wrong side.

However, the rough classification of black and mulatto is an oversimplification. Both countries, initially at least, shared the same racial composition, consisting of French, Spanish, English, African, Arawak Indian and Taino Indian blood. Only after the African element revolted against their French rulers, first slaughtering all whites and then most mulattos, did the complexion of Haiti darken. Their racial histories are fascinating, reflecting their colonial beginnings, genocidal outbursts, and subsequent racial amalgamation. The peoples of Haiti, for example, classify each other by color, fluency in Kreyol and hair texture.

Drawing upon the research of Dominican, French and French Canadian scholars, Michele Wucker provides a fine racial history of Hispaniola, excerpts of which follow:

In the early 16th century, even before the Africans arrived, Nicolas de Ovando, the Spanish colonial governor, had forced many of the colonists to marry Indians. . . . [M]any of the men, according to Dominican historian Roberto Cassá(5), were already living with Taino women. In the late 16th century, desperate to keep up the dwindling Spanish population as a last defense against French and English aspirations to shrink Spain’s territory on Hispaniola, the colonial government went so far as to encourage white colonists to marry the former slaves. These mixed-race children were treated as Spanish and white, and brought up with a strong sense of Roman Catholic identity to strengthen their resolve in fighting off Protestant (English) invaders. . . .

Over the centuries, the racial lines within Dominican society blurred, and it became, as it still largely is, mulatto. . . .

As early as 1549, according to the Dominican historian Franklin J. Franco(6), Santo Domingo’s colonial government defined seven racial types: black, or “negro,” slaves brought from Africa; white, Spaniards; mulatto, offspring of black and white; mestizo, descended from Indian and white; tercerón, child of a mulatto and a white; cuarterón, child of a tercerón and white; and grifo, mixed Indian and black.(7)

In the early 1970s the Dominican sociologist Daysi Josefina Guzmán(8) identified nine hair colors and 15 main kinds of hair texture on a spectrum between bueno (good) for soft, Caucasian hair and malo (bad) for kinky, Negroid hair. [Among these were] lacio for straight and smooth; achinado for straight, stiff hair; espeso, thick, abundant and very slightly wavy; macho, thick and strong, abundant but without luster; rizado, thick and fine with small waves but dull; muerto, thin and greasy; ondulado, wavy; vivo, thick, dry, and out of control; variable, indescribable; crespo, thick and frizzy; de pimienta, peppery, growing slow and tight to the skull in small balls; motica, like peppery hair but thin, wavy; and pegaíto, so close to the skull that it is impossible to comb. . . .

She identified 12 skin colors: lochoso, “too white,” like milk; blanco, white; cenizo, ashen; descolorido, “without color”; pálido, so pale as to appear sick, desteñido, jaundiced; pecoso, freckled; pinto, mostly light but with large freckles or moles; trigueño, light, with a very slight dark touch; manchado, dark, with light streaks; “negro,” very dark; morado, so black as to be “almost purple.” In addition, there were 10 facial structures, six physical types and five general racial types.

Each category could be used as a guide to where any Dominican stood on the social scale. . . . In the Dominican Republic, calling someone “Haitian” is on the surface synonymous with describing them as negro or morado, but with an added psychological weight of fear and hatred. Haitians are generally darker than Dominicans [owing to the slaughter of whites and many mulattos during the struggle for independence]. . . .

The early French colonists in Saint-Domingue identified 128 different racial types, defined quite precisely along a mathematical scale determined by simple calculations of ancestral contributions. They ranged from the “true” mulatto (half white, half black), through the spectrum of marabou, sacatra, quarterón, all the way to the sang-mêlé (mixed blood: 127 parts white and one part black. . . . The sociologist Micheline Labelle(9) has counted 22 main racial categories and 98 subcategories (for varying hair types, facial structure, color and other distinguishing factors) used among Haiti’s middle class in Port-au-Prince in the 1970s. Within each category, the words are often as imaginative as they are descriptive: café au lait (“coffee with milk”), bonbon siro (“candy syrup”), ti canel (“little cinnamon”), ravet blanch (“white cockroach”), soley levan (“rising Sun”), banane mûre (“ripe banana”), brun pistache (“peanut brown”), mulâtre dix-huit carats (“18-carat mulatto”). . . .

The decidedly darker complexion of the Haitians (on average) dates back to 1804, when dictator Jean Jacques Dessalines decided to slaughter all the “whites” still residing in Haiti. Because some of the “French colonists” already had African blood, Dessalines devised a language test to weed out “whites” who could pass for black on the basis of skin color. The test was simple and effective. Since the colonists spoke continental French, rather than Haiti’s Kreyol, suspected colonists were asked to sing a country tune containing the line, “Nanett alé nan fontain, cheche dlo, crich-a li cassé” (“Nanette went to the fountain, looking for water, but her jug broke”). The “French,” meaning anyone who gave themselves away when they could not reproduce the Kreyol sounds or African cadences of the melody, were summarily bayoneted.

After Toussaint had been removed, his successor Henri Christophe mimicked the vanquished French by crowning himself King Henri I, building a magnificent palace and the massive Citadele La Ferrière, and appointing Afro-Haitian dukes and lords to rule over his domain.

Haiti soon began its rapid descent from the richest colony in the Caribbean to the absolute poorest (TBR, October 1994). Lothrop Stoddard, famed American scholar whose views very much influenced the U.S. immigration law of 1922, described these early events in his famed The French Revolution in San Domingo, published in 1914.

During the years of U.S. dominance in the Caribbean, American presidents and politicians have referred to Haitians and Dominicans with varying degrees of sophistication. Shortly before the U.S. Marines invaded Haiti in 1915, Secretary of State William Jennings Bryan, when briefed on the situation there, commented crudely in the idiom of the day: “Dear me, think of it! Niggers speaking French.”

Franklin Roosevelt, himself a duplicitous individual, recognized another slick operator when he saw one, but had the good sense to utilize him. Commenting on the extravagances and excesses of Dominican leader Rafael Trujillo, the president remarked: “He may be an S.O.B., but at least he’s our S.O.B.”

Early in World War II, President Roosevelt, to aid Jewish refugees from Europe without the need of congressional consent, made a deal with Rafael Trujillo in which the Dominican leader agreed to take in Jewish refugees from Europe. Trujillo, who had just recently slaughtered about 20,000 Haitians along the Rio Massacre, was under the impression that by admitting the Jews he would be infusing new “white” blood into the Dominican racial stock. As it turned out, however, most of the Jews subsequently entered the United States, and the Dominican Republic remained mostly mulatto.

In recent years, U.S. President Bill Clinton was so captivated by the charms of a renegade priest, the defrocked Jean-Bertrand Aristide, that he used 20,000 U.S. troops to reinstate the expelled demagogue to power. It is not surprising, however, that today, despite an infusion of billions of American dollars, Haiti has returned to its natural state, i.e., chaos, lawlessness, postponed or phony elections, corruption, drugs, filth, poverty and the rest. Haiti has yet to find her native leader, wise and strong enough to institute a just and effective government. Moreover, as writer Wucker notes, in the last two decades one out of every eight Haitians and Dominicans has moved to and now resides in the United States.

The French critic and playwright Aimé Césaire(10) once described Haiti as follows: “Poor Africa! I say poor Haiti! It is the same thing. Over there, tribe, languages, rivers, the castes, forest, village against village, hamlet against hamlet. Here, blacks, mulattos, griffes, marabouts, what-have-you, clan, caste, color, defiance and conspiracy, fights between cocks, between dogs over a bone, the combat of fleas!” His observation remains true today.

Although it was not her intention at all, Wucker’s fine study once again demonstrates the importance of ethnicity as a determining factor in societal matters and the futility of attempting racial classifications after miscegenation has progressed through several generations.

The differences among peoples, he preached, resulted from cultural not racial or genetic causes. To a very great extent he undermined physical anthropological studies in America. A "protection racket" is a scam where an aggressor instigates an attack, blames it on a bogeyman, and then offers to protect the victim from this bogeyman in return for money and power.

The "War on Terror" is a protection racket. The aggressor is the world financial elite known as the "Crown" based in the City of London. Their instrument is the Zionist project, specifically the Mossad and its US allies.

The victim is the people of the United States and the West in general. The goal is the overthrow of Western Civilization, and the establishment of a world police state called the "New World Order."

"Zionism is but an incident of a far reaching plan," said leading American Zionist Louis Marshall, counsel for bankers Kuhn Loeb in 1917. "It is merely a convenient peg on which to hang a powerful weapon."

The head of the Department of Homeland Security is Israeli dual citizen and Zionist Michael Chertoff. He was the New Jersey State Attorney when five Mossad agents were arrested after witnesses saw them congratulating themselves on the destruction of the World Trade Center. Their van tested positive for explosives. (See Chris Bollyn article below.) Speculators who shorted airline stocks before 9-11 have been identified as Israelis apparently.

"ANTI SEMITISM" THE ORIGINAL PROTECTION RACKET

The Jewish elite regards the Jewish rank-and-file as pawns to be manipulated. "Anti Semitism is indispensable to us for the management of our lesser brethren," says the author of Protocols of the Elders of Zion (9-2) a "forgery" that reads like the blueprint of the New World Order.

Jews had to be terrorized into setting up Israel as a "national home," i.e. colonizing the Middle East and creating a centre of world government. World Finance funded the Nazis. Zionist betrayal is the reason Jews went passively to their deaths, says Rabbi Moshe Shonfeld in his book "Holocaust Victims Accuse." Non-Zionist Jews were worth more dead than alive to the Zionist leadership who, Shonfeld says, reaped the moral and financial capital from their "sacrifice." The Jewish elite has a long history of manipulating Jews in this manner. For example, in 1950 a wave of anti Semitism and terrorism in Iraq made Naeim Giladi, 21, join the Zionist underground. Giladi was imprisoned, tortured and sentenced to death by Iraqi authorities.

He escaped and fled to Israel only to discover that the anti Semitism and bombings had been engineered by his fellow Zionists to dupe Iraqi Jews into going to Israel. Israel provoked attacked from its neighbours in order to "retain its moral tension" according to the secret diary of Prime Minister Moshe Sharett. The state must "invent dangers" to start war and thereby "acquire our space,"

"ANTI SEMITISM" BECOMES "ANTI AMERICANISM"

A pogrom like 9-11 was designed to stampede Americans into forfeiting their civil rights and invading the Middle East.

There is a drumbeat in the media to convince Americans that they are victims of Muslim fanatics. This propaganda campaign is carried out by Neo Cons (a.k.a. Zionists.) In an otherwise disappointing new book, "The New Jerusalem: Zionist Power in America," Michael Collins Piper writes:

"In the build-up to the Iraq war, Zionist propagandists and the media increasingly began touting the message to Americans that "the whole world is against us"... and the Israelis are our only real solid dependable ally ...The theme that anti Americanism had run rampant was instilled in Americans for the very purpose of making them "anti" everyone who refused to support the...Iraq war...and the more broad ranging Zionist agenda." (157)

Piper says that Zionism is being equated with Americanism. Zionist agents like Nathan Sharansky crafted the overblown and specious rhetoric of Bush's second inaugural speech that committed the US to advancing the Zionist agenda using force.

History provides a sobering warning as to where this could be leading. In his essay, The Nature of Zionism, Russian author Vladimir Stepin writes,

ACLU smoking dope at border?

Minutemen say photos show 'legal observers' getting high

Volunteers with the Minuteman Project in Arizona say "legal observers" sent by the ACLU to monitor the citizen border patrol have been seen smoking marijuana in violation of the law.

Photographs were posted on the website of the South East Arizona Republican Club after Minuteman participants reported they saw, and smelled, the ACLU workers smoking pot.

Eleanor Eisenberg, executive director of the ACLU of Arizona, did not respond to a request for comment given to her assistant by WorldNetDaily.

As WND reported, ACLU activists shadowing the Minuteman Project at the U.S.-Mexican border are actively aiding and abetting aliens attempting to enter the country illegally, according to a spokesman for the volunteer civilian force.

Grey Deacon told Joseph Farah's nationally syndicated "WorldNetDaily RadioActive" audience Friday that ACLU monitors sent to the border to watch Minuteman activity and report civil-liberties abuses to authorities have begun flashing lights, sounding horns and warning off illegals and their "coyote" human smugglers from entering territory patrolled by the volunteers.

"They are actively engaging in criminal activity," said Deacon.

Deacon said the ACLU activists are resorting to new tactics because of the success the Minuteman Project is having in assisting the Border Patrol in spotting illegal aliens and in generating publicity about the insecure U.S.-Mexico border.

The ACLU dispatched its representatives to the 23-mile section of the Arizona border patrolled by the Minutemen after predicting the group would abuse the rights of illegal aliens. No such abuses have materialized to date.

"The ACLU's position is that illegal aliens have a right to enter our border and stay in this country as long as they want," said Deacon. "That's what one of the leaders of the group told me personally."

A volunteer reported, according to the South East Arizona Republican Club, "The ACLU is getting desperate to get something on the Minutemen and are trying to provoke incidents now."

"They pushed one of the Minutemen the other night trying to get him to push back. Didn't work. Then last night they walked up and shined a spotlight right in a Minuteman's face from six inches or so away. Didn't work that time either. We immediately report these types of contacts with them to the sheriff to counter any claims they try to make against us. They should be called the UCLU (Un-American Civil Lawsuit Union).

"They give us the middle finger every chance they get to try to get us to react. We are still trying to figure out if that is their age or IQ."

This is a pure illustration of just where the ACLU draws its support, namely from the culturally challenged and morally bankrupt masses.

Every report we've received indicates these people are very supportive of the rank-and-file agents, they're courteous, many of them are retired firefighters, cops, and other professionals, and they're not causing us any problems whatsoever. Reports of them causing "ground sensors" to go off are exaggerated because most of those are being set off by the ACLU sneaking around trying to find the Minutemen doing something wrong. The Minutemen have succeeded in shifting the bulk of the illegal alien traffic out of the Naco corridor. If only President Bush were so supportive of the rank-and-file agents... The Minutemen have made it very clear that they fully support rank-and-file Border Patrol agents. If only we had such support from the politicians we have to work for (aren't we really supposed to be working for the citizens of this country anyway?)

Furthermore, according to WND, the Minuteman Project has been so wildly successful at this point, despite Chris Simcox currying favor from the forces of political correctness that the MMP has denounced racism, they now claim to have enough volunteers to expand to four states.

It is also apparent that the ACLU volunteers have become a subversive force warning off the illegals, coyotes and drug smugglers.

Is Double Standard on Israel’s Nuclear Program Ending?

As Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon pushes the Bush administration to take action against Iran’s nuclear program there are indications that the U.S. double standard regarding Israel’s extensive nuclear arsenal may be coming to an end. But is the policy change real? Or is it merely a feint?

When Sharon visited President George W. Bush at his Texas ranch on April 11, Iran’s nuclear program was the main subject of discussion, according to reports in the U.S. and Israeli press. Sharon urged Bush “to step up pressure on Iran to give up all elements of its nuclear program, according to senior American and Israeli officials,” according to U.S. press reports.

Sharon and his chief military aide, Brig. Gen. Yaakov Galant, reportedly presented Israeli intelligence and aerial photographs of Iranian nuclear sites. American officials said Sharon “was clearly pressuring Mr. Bush not to allow the European negotiations with Iran to drag on.” June has been set as the end point for the negotiations.

Iran is currently engaged in negotiations with Germany, France and Britain, in an effort to resolve the status of its nuclear program. Sharon argued that the European nations “were softening their position” with Iran and willing to allow it to hold on to technology to enrich uranium. Iran maintains that its nuclear program is to produce energy and is not a weapons program.

Scott Ritter, the former weapons inspector in Iraq, said recently that Bush has approved plans to bomb Iranian nuclear sites in June if the European negotiators fail to obtain complete Iranian compliance with western demands.

“Our nuclear activities are transparent and under the supervision of the IAEA,” Hamid Reza Asefi, spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry said. “Iran seeks nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.” The International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA, is the monitoring agency of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

The Israeli daily Haaretz reported that Sharon wants the United States to pressure the Europeans to move the Iranian case to the UN Security Council, which can impose sanctions on Iran. The Israeli position is that the Iranian nuclear program is on the cusp of a “point of no return.”

“This can’t be delayed much longer,” The New York Times reported a senior Israeli official in Sharon’s party as saying. “There is very little time until the point of no return is reached.”

The Times, whose motto is “All the News That’s Fit to Print,” avoided mentioning Israel’s extensive nuclear weapons or the fact that, unlike Iran, Israel is not a state party to the NPT.

Perhaps the fact that Israel, a non-member of the NPT, is trying to use the treaty to punish Iran, a member of the treaty, is a contradiction too difficult for the Times to finesse so it simply avoids mentioning it.

Only 4 nations are not members of the NPT: Cuba, India, Pakistan and Israel. As a member of the NPT, Iran’s nuclear facilities are open to inspection and monitoring by the IAEA, while Israel’s are not. This fundamental difference in the status of Iran’s and Israel’s nuclear programs is generally omitted from news reports in the controlled press.

The fact that Israel has been allowed to develop a nuclear weapons arsenal and stay out of the NPT without being sanctioned by the United States or the international community is the essence of the nuclear double-standard. With the world’s attention focused on Iran’s nuclear program, however, there are signs coming from the State Department that the days of the Israeli double-standard may be numbered.

The 187 member states of the NPT will hold a month long conference at the United Nations building in New York City in May to review the treaty and seek ways to strengthen its provisions.

Referring to upcoming NPT conference, Jackie Wolcott Sanders, the special representative of the president for the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, wrote in the State Department’s electronic journal, that the goal of universal NPT adherence ought to be highlighted.

Sanders wrote that it should be “reaffirmed that India, Israel and Pakistan may join the NPT only as non-nuclear weapon states. . . . At the same time, we recognize that progress toward universal adherence is not likely in the foreseeable future.”

Another State Department official, Mark Fitzpatrick, made similar comments at a security conference of the Organization of American States (OAS) on March 17 in Washington.

“The conference should also reinforce the goal of universal NPT adherence and reaffirm that India, Israel and Pakistan may join the NPT only as non-nuclear-weapon states,” Fitzpatrick said. “Just as South Africa and Ukraine did in the early 1990s, these states should forswear nuclear weapons and accept IAEA safeguards on all nuclear activities.

“The rare use of these terms contradicts the custom of senior [U.S.] administration officials to avoid any possible confirming reference to Israeli nuclear weapons,” Haaretz wrote.

It should be noted that Sanders and Fitzpatrick are “non-senior” officials at the State Department and their comments did not explicitly call on Israel, India and Pakistan to renounce their nuclear weapons. Their comments did not call for action, as the Israelis are vigorously pushing for against Iran, nor did they mention a timetable, conditions or sanctions.

Are the comments of Sanders and Fitzpatrick mere posturing, or do they indicate a change in U.S. policy regarding Israel’s nuclear weapons?

The fact that Bush appointed Dr. Robert Joseph to replace John Bolton as the next Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security suggests that Israel will not be put under any pressure to join the NPT or give up its nuclear arsenal. Joseph, who was appointed on March 11, is a “neo-con” known for his pro-Israel sympathies.

Joseph played a primary role in the U.S. withdrawal from the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty and is associated with the National Institute for Public Policy, an organization that supports resumed nuclear testing. Joseph was also reportedly involved in negotiations with Libya to end its nuclear program.

As Sharon pressed U.S. government officials to take action against Iran, Israel’s most famous nuclear dissident and political prisoner, Mordecai Vanunu, faced prosecutors wielding a 22-count indictment against him in an Israeli court.

Vanunu is being charged with violating the restrictions imposed on him when he was released last April after 18 years in prison.

Vanunu, who converted to Christianity in 1986, spent the first 12 years in solitary confinement.

When Vanunu, who divulged information about Israel’s nuclear weapons program to the London Sunday Times in October 1986, was released from prison on April 21, 2004, a number of restrictions preventing him from speaking with foreigners or leaving Israel were imposed on him.

Upon release, Vanunu immediately defied the restrictions and spoke to the foreign press. He called for Israel to open its nuclear program to international inspections.

“It’s a shameful day for Israel’s democracy, that a man who served 18 years, a full sentence, is brought to court for exercising his freedom of speech,” Vanunu told the Associated Press after his court appearance on April 12. “I have no more secrets. Only Israel has secrets about its atomic program,” he added.

American Free Press spoke with Vanunu at the guesthouse at St. George’s Cathedral complex in Jerusalem on April 13 and asked him how things had gone in court.

The restrictions on his movement and speech, which were set to expire, were renewed for another year, he said. Vanunu, who is being held against his will in Israel, is still a prisoner of the state.

“I am continuing to break these restrictions,” Vanunu said about speaking to the foreign press.

Asked why he was being put on trial by Israel, Vanunu said, “My view is there are many reasons, but mainly they don’t want me to speak about Israel’s nuclear arsenal and bring attention to it. They want total silence.

“They don’t like my political opinions and they don’t want me to expose their cruelty and how they have treated me.”

Vanunu was kidnapped by Israeli intelligence agents in Italy in 1986.

“They don’t like a man like me who has become a Christian,” he added.

Vanunu told AFP that he did not know how Israel had tested its nuclear weapons in the 1960s, but that they had tested a weapon “in 1976 in South Africa.” Asked if Israeli weapons had been tested in another country, such as France, Vanunu said, “I have no idea. There are some secrets we don’t know about.”

Asked if he had a message he wanted to send Americans, Vanunu said: “I want them to know that my situation proves that Israel is not a democracy that respects human rights. People should not be afraid to challenge Israel’s illegal nuclear policies and its continued violations of human rights. Americans should write to their senators and representatives in Congress.”

Vanunu, who is ostracized by Israelis and Zionists, lives in mortal danger in Israel. He wants nothing more than to come to the United States and start a normal life.

He told AFP that he would like to meet and marry an American Christian woman between the ages of 25 to 35. He can be reached at the guesthouse of St. George’s Cathedral in Jerusalem.

Editor's comment: It seems as if George Bush is doing something right, for a change.

All in all, we see this as mere window dressing by Bush since Dr. Robert Joseph, another neocon, has replaced John Bolton as Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security. The government is infested with these dual loyalist traitors in positions of high authority.

All the while, Mordecai Vanunu faces continued persecution and harrassment from Israeli authorities. The fact that Vanunu is kept virtually incommunicado basically under house arrest and a gag order to not talk to the press, and forbidden to leave Israel makes the Zionists look ever more like the old communist regimes while they hide behind the façade of democracy.

Such greater hypocrisy I am not sure exists, unless you might consider BushCo mouthing their high and mighty spiels about democracy themselves.

This, of course, is a lie since they only seek to spread their fascism of supercapitalist hegemony via the transnational corporations, U.S. military might and the technosocialist, Trotskyite continual revolution of the neocons.

To maintain the prosperity of the failed fiat money system that requires more and ever increasing injections of debt to keep the system from collapse we suffer the ravages of perpetual war for perpetual peace.

11 illegal aliens fail to appear for court date

Eleven illegal aliens who were released by federal authorities after a traffic stop in Fairfax County on Sunday did not show up for immigration proceedings yesterday.

"None of them came back, and I think that the fact that these aliens failed to appear showed the challenges of immigration enforcement," said Manny Van Pelt, a spokesman for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

Mr. Van Pelt said about 30 percent of illegal aliens who are ordered to appear for immigration proceedings fail to show up. Of those who do appear, about 85 percent become fugitives if a judge orders them to be deported.

"We know full well that the honor system doesn't work and it doesn't make our job any easier when we're trying to focus on violent criminal aliens and trying to thwart terrorism," he said.

ICE officials had ordered the 11 Mexican nationals, three of whom are children, to show up for further immigration processing at the ICE agency in Northern Virginia yesterday morning. A Fairfax County police officer had found the aliens riding in a Dodge Ram van early Sunday morning when the officer had stopped the vehicle for making an illegal U-turn in Annandale.

That morning, ICE officials processed the aliens, but later released them and told them to appear at the ICE offices yesterday. Officials had said they did not know where the aliens were staying in the meantime.

There are about 465,000 fugitive illegals nationwide, Mr. Van Pelt said. ICE officials deported 157,281 aliens nationwide last year, he said.

"In this case, none of these aliens were criminals or threats to national security," he said. "We're committed to enforcing immigration law, but do we go after terrorists or gangs like [Mara Salvatrucha] to keep another 9/11 from happening, or do we go after day laborers? It's a challenge that requires balance and prioritizing."

Federal authorities will now issue a notice that will be sent to an address the aliens had given to ICE officials. If the aliens do not show up at any immigration proceedings, a judge will issue an order for their deportation.

The illegals will have 30 days to appeal the deportation ruling before federal authorities input the aliens' personal information into the National Crime Information Center as "fugitive absconders."

Any law-enforcement officials who come in contact with them would be allowed under the law to detain them until they are turned over into ICE custody and eventually deported.

Virginia state law allows local law-enforcement officials to only detain illegal aliens if they are suspected of a crime, have been previously convicted of a felony or have been previously deported or left the U.S. and returned illegally.

However, once the aliens are declared fugitives, any law-enforcement official can detain them and turn them over to ICE.

"They essentially forfeit their right to due process and if law enforcement comes in contact with them, they will be apprehended and placed into detention until they are removed," Mr. Van Pelt said.

The non-appearance by the 11 illegal aliens yesterday did not surprise state lawmakers.

"It seems so obvious to me that no one would show up," said Delegate David B. Albo, Fairfax County Republican. "It just highlights how much the federal government has completely dropped the ball on this whole issue. They get their hands on 11 [aliens] and they can't even grab them and throw them out of the country."

Delegate Jeffrey M. Frederick on Wednesday didn't expect the illegals to return for yesterday's court date.

"Yeah, right," the Prince William County Republican said. "When are we going to stop encouraging illegal activity?"

Delegate Vivian E. Watts, Fairfax County Democrat, said Wednesday the law limiting local officials in detaining illegal aliens is necessary to prevent illegals from being victimized by other criminals.

"The issue there is while you could be deported based on a felony record, in this instance, these individuals have not committed any felony," Mrs. Watts said. "If immigrants fear that they can be deported then they are very vulnerable to being victimized by people who are committing crimes" because they would not go to the police.

Bush promising Vincente Fox that he will seek more lenient immigration will likely only exacerbate the growing problems of illegal immigrants openly flouting the law.

According to the Center for Immigration Studies, "during the 1990s, an average of more than 1.3 million immigrants — legal and illegal — settled in the United States each year. Between January 2000 and March 2002, 3.3 million additional immigrants have arrived."

Additionally, CIS reports, "The present level of immigration is significantly higher than the average historical level of immigration. This flow may be attributed, in part, to the extraordinary broadening of U.S. immigration policy in 1965. Since 1970, more than 30 million legal and illegal immigrants have settled in the U.S., representing more than one-third of all people ever to come to America's shores."

Among hispanic illegals, a recent study from the Pew Hispanic Center says, "the undocumented population has reached nearly 11 million including more than 6 million Mexicans."

We see similar immigration problems in the nations of Europe as they have been inundated by increasing numbers of immigrants and asylum seekers.

There needs to be an immigration freeze while the problem of the illegals is worked out. Giving them amnesty is an even greater boondoggle and is nothing short of treason.

Civil War Imminent in Israel?

IDF Plans to Collect Settlers’ Weapons Prior to Disengagement

Zionist extremist elements of the settlement movement within Israel seem to be mobilizing for resistance to the planned disengagement, set to begin in mid-July, of 17 Jewish settlements in Gaza and four in the northern West Bank.

As a prelude to the withdrawal the Israeli Defense Minister, Shaul Mofaz, has directed the Israeli Defense Forces to collect the weapons of settlers two weeks prior to the pullout.

Already there have been, for a number of months, violent demonstrations and threats against Israeli government officials in an attempt to derail the Roadmap to Peace. Many of these groups were once considered to be moderate, but have now come out in open opposition to the disengagement plan.

In one such demonstration in Jerusalem recently, an injured female police officer complained that “what hurt the most” was when the demonstrators “called us (the police) Nazis.”

Proponents of the disengagement have argued that the recent Revava movement where Jewish pilgrims to the Temple Mount, who go there to pray in accordance with halacha, or Jewish law, intend to do so as a mass protest against the planned disengagement. According to Zionist hardliners, this “invasion” would be welcomed as a way to provoke the Arab world still further to broaden the campaign to eliminate the Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza to the point of complete expulsion in the continuation of the original Zionist scheme of Eretz Israel to expand the Zionist state to the Biblical borders of ancient Israel.

The IDF Spokesman’s Office is planning a “controlled openness” policy during the evacuation that will severely limit independent coverage of the events. The military affairs commentator for Israel’s Channel 10 television says the plans he has seen are based on "the belief that they can control us and direct us and determine where we will be. This doesn't appear reasonable... I want free mobility in the field. They can keep tabs on who goes in, but they can't dictate to us where we go."

This brings to mind the controlled press atmosphere of “embedded reporters” that operates in Iraq under the U.S. occupation where everything must clear the censors.

In other protests, the foes of disengagement have likened the current Israeli regime to an “oligarchy” and called for a vote of “no confidence” of the Sharon government. Sharon has also been accused of conducting an “intimidation-defamation campaign” using “baseless inventions” in a desperate effort by the “spin meisters” of Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security force, to discredit the settlement movement and the entire religious nationalist camp.

CONFLICT BETWEEN RELIGIOUS AND POLITICAL ZIONISM

Yoram Peri wrote of patriotism in a recent Haaretz article, “The very concept of patriotism as a value raises many problems, such as the tension between loving one's homeland and loving one's nation, or between love of the state and love of society.” Peri complains further and questions why “the mere mention of patriotism today, by a member of Knesset or a Jewish settler, is immediately suspect, reeking of deceit, if not messianic fanaticism?”

Perhaps the self-styled nationalist religious patriots of Zionism feel the sting of the controlled media as they are increasingly portrayed in a light similar to American and European nationalists and patriots. This is the conflict between the aspects of religious Zionism and that of secular political Zionism.

The article by Peri goes on to state that patriotism has positive influences but “it also functions as a strikingly negative force” when it “allows those who control the state's mechanisms to distinguish between 'good citizens' and 'bad citizens,' to monopolize patriotism itself and to exclude the groups they do not wish to promote.”

It seems again that Israelis are slowly awakening to the New World Order blues that true American patriots and nationalists have been aware of for so long now.

The type of patriotism now in vogue among the Jewish settlers looks less and less like traditional native or revolutionary patriotism. Yoram Peri writes that, “One of the most fascinating dialectics within the current debate over the future of the territories is that the most vocal proponents of patriotism - Jewish settlers, especially those with religious-nationalist views - are willing, in the name of a zealous love for Eretz Israel, to accept a rupture in Israeli society, to hurt the State of Israel and even to shake off its authority altogether.” As a fundamentalist patriotism took hold, patriotism then became conditional in the secular state and a new kind of messianic patriotism has come to the fore among religious Zionists.

This would seem to explain the existence of a current antipathy toward traditional patriotism which clashes with an ethnic nationalism that excludes all non-Jews. It is apparent that Zionism has prevented the emergence of any civic patriotism among the Arabs living within Israel.

Peri insists that the old patriotic ideal of “blood and land” is “archaic” and suggests a new patriotism which will foster republicanism and “solidarity with community and society.”

The gulf between the Israeli Zionist right and left continues to widen and the encounters between these factions will become shriller as the disengagement plan comes closer to implementation.

The Leninist, Bolshevik dogma that there exists only power and that everything is subordinated to attaining and maintaining that power is the main goal of the Zionist secular state. The religious Zionists, though many are loyal to the teachings of the Torah, have forsaken this secularism in favor of their Talmudic heritage.

This is where the possibility for further conflict arises that could lead to extreme violence and even to civil war.
